The Isle of Mull
|
The Isle of Mull can be reached by car ferry either from Oban to Craignure or from Lochaline to Fishnish. As a holiday venue, the island is ideal for birdwatchers, walkers, artists, photographers and anyone who likes peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. The main centre is Tobermory, in the north-east corner of the island. The main street curves around one of the best natural harbours in the British Isles, which is very popular with visiting yachtsmen and is supposed to contain a sunken treasure ship. You can find out more at the Mull Museum. The shops along Main Street include Archibald Brown & Son, a delightfully old-fashioned ironmongers. At the southern end of is the distillery, which is open to visitors. |
